The peripheral medical office of Araya will begin to work tomorrow, once the equipment phase of the property ceded by the Candelaria City Council is completed. This new sanitary facility, which is part of the Candelaria Basic Health Zone, will cover more than 1,600 residents in the town as well as in Las Cuevecitas, Malpaís and Barranco Hondo.
The new health units consist of an administrative and reception area, another care area with a family medicine consultation, a multipurpose consultation, a waiting room and adapted toilets. In addition, it has a service area that includes a room for plumbing installations, the generator set, cleaning and selective waste collection, as well as a staff area.
As for its staff, the peripheral office of Araya has four professionals, one of whom is a specialist in family medicine, one in Nursing, a Nursing assistant and an administrator who will provide service from Monday to Friday.
With its commissioning, the City Council proceeds to adapt Line 4, Las Cuevecitas and Malpaís, from transport to demand to meet the needs of users in the area with the aim of facilitating arrival at the doctor’s office. With this, Line 4 will deviate from its usual route if there are travelers from Cuevecitas and Malpaís who want to reach the health center. The local government reminds that Line 3 passes through the Araya medical office on all its trips.
