He Autonomous Organization of Museums (OAMC) of Tenerife has organized an ‘escape room’ to delve into the bowels of the Castle of San Cristobal of the Museum of History and Anthropology of Tenerife to rediscover the history of Santa Cruz with the initiative The Besieged Castle.
As reported by the Cabildo, the activity will begin on Monday, May 22, to offer every Tuesday and Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., this fun date in the form of an escape room.
Here, the Island Councilor for Museums, Concepción Rivero, explains that this proposal will give visitors the opportunity to participate actively within the center and to learn more about the history of the city and its powerful defensive system”.
In addition, he recalled that “the activity is included in the program of actions designed by the Museums of Tenerife for the celebration of International Museum Day”.
When accessing the Interpretation Center, the visitor will receive some materials that will allow him to carry out the activity independently.
During the tour, you will have to solve a series of enigmas about the secrets and details of the history of the Castillo de San Cristóbal that will allow you to leave the fort, which has been a faithful witness to the defeat of the English admiral Nelson in 1797.
In this way, the visitor will discover aspects of the context of these ruins, the defensive architecture or the heritage value of this place, recovered since its discovery in 2008.
