“It is not enough just that you go to vote. We have to bring many purple, green and red votes to the polls this 28M,” he said
SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 (EUROPA PRESS)
The Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, has opted for the continuity of coalition governments and progress to stop a “wild” right that is “attacking the heart of democracy.”
This was revealed this Sunday during an act to support the candidacy of Noemí Santana, from Unidas Sí Podemos (We Can, Izquierda Unida and Sí Se Puede), for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands, where she began her speech showing her support for the Saharawi cause and asking for a vote for Santana for his work in recent years at the head of the Regional Council for Social Rights.
“The right no longer exists in Spain. There is only an extreme right that is attacking the heart of democracy to return to bipartisanship and that its corruption remains in impunity,” he asserted.
Montero has placed special emphasis on the fact that the right-wing parties do not know how to run for elections “with fair play.”
“They have done it -he continued- with money from corruption to pay for their campaigns and using the sewers to attack their adversaries”, to add that in these elections they are saying “ETA, ETA, ETA” so that they do not talk about that in the worst of the health emergency, where the PP governed, they were more concerned with the “bites” than with the people, expressly citing the case of the Community of Madrid.
Likewise, the minister commented that the PP is very concerned about the canvases on Calle Goya in Madrid or about Ione Belarra’s shirt. “The Minister of Social Rights has said it very well today. Return the money, we already took care of removing the canvas, but return every last euro, corrupt! Thieves!” She snapped.
In the same way, Montero explained that there will never again be silence “in the face of the corruption of the PP” despite the fact that the media right “wants to pay a huge price for it.” “Never with our silence -he insisted-, his corruption and, above all, the impunity of his corruption ended.”
THE RIGHT DECLARES IN “REBELLY”
He also criticized that the right is declaring itself in “rebellion” against the law by “refusing” to apply the abortion law and threatening not to apply the housing law to “continue benefiting speculators.”
“The PP uses democracy when with the rules of democracy it can continue to benefit the privileged, making tax amnesties or giving away public housing to vulture funds, but it never accepts democracy when it consists of guaranteeing rights,” Montero observed.
THE CENTER PARTIES DO NOT ACCEPT THIS “ANTIDEMOCRATIC DRIFT”
On the other hand, the minister regretted that the center parties do not finish accepting the “undemocratic drift” of the Spanish right.
“They often act on the bipartisan confrontation, they get angry because Ayuso does not allow a minister to take the podium in an official act, but then they have let the PP do what they want for five years, blocking the CGPJ,” he said. to add that this “over action” occurs especially when there is an electoral campaign.
Therefore, he understood that in these elections it is not enough for the right not to enter the Government. “United We Can,” he continued, “has to be strong enough because it is the only one that can prevent the right wing from ruling even if it is not in government. With a wild right wing, UP says ‘yes you can, of course you can guarantee rights ‘”.
All in all, Montero said that only Podemos has enough capacity to govern and insist on things until they become a reality, such as the Minimum Interprofessional Wage, the price of electricity with the Iberian solution or the price of masks.
Given this situation, the minister has asked for a vote to prevent the right from governing. “It is not enough just that you go to vote. We have to bring many purple, green and red votes to the polls this 28M,” she said.
THE POLITICAL FORCE THAT TAKES FEMINIST RIGHTS SERIOUSLY
“We are the political force that takes feminist rights seriously,” she said. “If they are so attacked it is because they are at the heart of the reforms. Feminism is the most important thing we have to do now in politics; guarantee life of women and safe abortion”.
He also referred to the defense of the rights of LGTBI and trans people. “We have achieved that Spain is in fourth place in respect to LGTBI and trans people, and that is rights for all, because we are all freer if all our neighbors can be who they are without fear,” he exposed for criticism the “damn hoaxes ” right.
