The Adeje City Council continues executing the remodeling project of the Mirador de La Paloma, located in the coastal area of La Enramada. The objective is to revitalize an emblematic point of the municipality that is currently unused and in a state of deterioration. With this initiative, the City Council seeks to enhance the beauty of an environment that is highly frequented by residents and tourists, given its privileged location, next to the pedestrian promenade and facing the sea.
The project has been raised according to the criteria established by the technical staff of the City Council and contemplates the creation of an accessible layout, the renovation of the pavement and furniture, the installation of new lighting and the inclusion of points of stay with sun protection systems.
The Mirador de La Paloma is located on the pedestrian promenade of the same name at its intersection with Paseo de La Pedrera. It stands on a rocky mound in the coastal area and has characteristics that make it a privileged location.
The current access to the viewpoint by stairs is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. In addition, the route it presents is limited and does not make optimal use of the morphology of the mound, which has led to an indiscriminate use of paved areas, highlights the City Council.
SOLUTION
The project proposes a solution that values the shapes, textures and colors that the mountain offers. A new layout accessible to all has been designed that coincides with the current access, replacing the stairs with a ramp that respects the existing physical mark on the mountain. Likewise, an effort has been made to integrate the route into the terrain, allowing the rock to form an important part of the landscape and avoiding the construction of walkways and raised railings.
The new layout is carried out with a 6% slope and two rest areas have been created before reaching the main viewing area at the top of the mound. The first resting point, which offers unbeatable views of La Enramada beach, also has a lounge area and shaded areas. The tour culminates in a raised horizontal platform, where the limits merge with the horizon.
