The CC candidate has said that life expectancy is increasing for what it is necessary to adapt public administrations to the needs of this group which is becoming more and more numerous and has pointed out that although it is committed to creating more socio-sanitary beds, not everything has to be a care policy but also one of active aging. Clavijo has indicated that policies are needed in which the elderly can be trained in new technologies and that are useful to society because “thanks to them we are where we are”.

He added that the CC is the only party that has a specific program for the elderly and for those who have finished their working lives “but feel young, useful and that they can continue contributing.”

Ansina Program

The candidate of the Canarian Coalition for the Presidency of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, has promised to recover the Ansina program, which maintained activities that, as she has stated, were fundamental for the elderly.

davila has considered that the current government of the PSOE in the Cabildo de Tenerife, has abandoned the elderly of Santa Cruz, La Laguna and all of Tenerife with the elimination of this program.

The CC candidate for mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, has also pointed out that after the elimination of the Ansina program by the insular government of the PSOE, in the City Council of the capital of Tenerife “we got our batteries” with the implementation of new programs “that we are going to reinforce” in the next mandate.

The current mayor and candidate for his re-election has pointed out that these are programs aimed not only at reinforce activity in the elderly and fight against loneliness but with the start-up of day centers in the municipality. In his opinion, these measures, together with the reinforcement of home care, will improve the quality of life of the elderly.

The candidate for Parliament for Tenerife Ana Oramas has considered that Santa Cruz, Tenerife and the Canary Islands cannot continue with the PSOE and Podemos in the Government and it is necessary to make the policies “of yes” and those of advancing in social matters. “Health care is worse, dependency is worse, there are no jobs for young people and we have a government that says that everything is fine”, lamented the candidate for Canarian Coalition.
