SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 18. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands, meeting this Thursday in the Governing Council, has approved the authorization of multi-annual spending by the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth to face the cost related to the contracting of the Service of specific devices for residential care of unaccompanied migrant minors who, being in a legal situation of helplessness, are under the guardianship of the general directorate for the protection of children and the family, for an amount that amounts to 49,755,723.60 euros.
The expense, of a multi-year nature for the years 2023 and 2024, will be used for administrative contracting, through an open award procedure subject to current regulations, of specific devices for residential care for unaccompanied minors, according to a note from the Executive.
To this end, the contract includes in its bases the execution of services in specific lots: El Hierro; Fuerteventura; Tenerife metropolitan area; North Tenerife; South Tenerife; Gran Canaria metropolitan area; Gran Canaria north and Gran Canaria south.
The Canary Islands have a total of 39 emergency devices managed directly by the General Directorate for Child and Family Protection, 22 in Gran Canaria, 13 in Tenerife, 1 in El Hierro and 3 in Fuerteventura, where reception and attention to more than 2,100 migrant minors.
