SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 19. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Mobility area, has awarded a traffic study at the roundabout of the TF-5 that connects with Las Chumberas and Guajara, in La Laguna, with the aim of assessing the different alternatives that can be applied to improve mobility in this area.
The project, which has an approximate duration of three months, consists of carrying out a simulation of the traffic in all the accesses of the roundabout to create a report on the operation of the traffic at this point and the possible influence that the different proposals to improve circulation.
The alternatives to be analyzed include projects such as the reorganization of some entrances and exits to the roundabout or the execution of direct lanes, reports the Cabildo in a note.
Once the study has been carried out, the chosen solution may contain one or several proposals provided that they are the alternative improvement to improve the mobility of the roundabout.
The roundabout that connects with Las Chumberas and Guajara is frequently overwhelmed by the heavy traffic that is generated in the link that connects the TF-5 highway of regional interest with the entrance to the commercial space, the university campus, and the residential area.
To alleviate this congestion, the Cabildo de Tenerife has already carried out a microsimulation study that will complement this traffic analysis that has been awarded to the company Desarrollo, Resiliencia y Sostenibilidad.
