The PSOE of La Laguna states that “democracy is freedom of demonstration and expression, but it can never be related to violence. Therefore, this party is studying the possibility of reporting this attack to the competent authorities to protect, fundamentally, coexistence and civility, also during electoral processes.
The PSOE of La Laguna has reiterated that there is no cause that can justify the use of violence and has recalled that it is not a freedom that any political force can appropriate. Days before, the party’s electoral posters on a central avenue in the island capital were also vandalized. In this case, it was the mayoral candidate herself, Patricia Hernández, who shared on her social networks several photos of an individual while she was tearing down part of the posters placed on the central Avenida Veinticinco de Julio. The man wore a Spanish flag with the Francoist eagle on his clothes. “Mr. with the eagle on the shirt, we already know that you don’t like democracy very much and you don’t like my posters, but I have bad news for you: We are more. Go back to the Cave,” the socialist candidate wrote on Twitter.
Among the responses to his tweet, some people mentioned that the PSOE posters and also those of United Sí Podemos were also being vandalized in La Laguna.
