The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) the instructions that establish the procedure for exemption from paying the public price for taking the Baccalaureate Assessment test for the Access to the University (EBAU) for the 2022/2023 academic year for students from families with few resources.
As in previous years, the measure is aimed at students in the second year of Baccalaureate, as well as Higher Education Vocational Training Cycles, Professional Education in Plastic Arts and Design, and Sports Education, who certify that they do not exceed the thresholds established economics.
Specifically, the income limits may not exceed 10,527.43 euros per year, in the case of a family unit made up of one person; of 14,738.40 euros, if there are two; of 20,633.76 euros, for three; of 28,887.26 euros, if there are four, and of 40,442.16 euros in the case of five members.
To accredit the requirements to obtain the exemption, it must be presented, in person or electronically, at the center where the student has obtained the degree that gives them access to the test or where they are enrolled in the school year. 2022-2023 (if it were different from the one in which the degree was obtained), the IRPF tax certificate for the year 2021, if you have the obligation to declare.
Otherwise, an income attribution certificate corresponding to the year 2021, issued by the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT), will be presented for each member of the family unit.
In extraordinary cases, any of the previous certifications may be replaced by the provision of a responsible statement, signed by the person concerned, in case of being of legal age, or, failing that, by another member of the family unit, authorizing expressly to the educational administration to collect, on their behalf, the corresponding certificates, the Ministry points out in a note.
Once the requirements to obtain the exemption have been accredited, the secretary of the center will authorize the registration in the test (EBAU) and will issue a certificate with the nominal relationship of the students, which will also include those who are entitled to the corresponding exemption or deduction for large family.
Before September 30, 2023, the universities will send to the General Directorate of Universities a certification that reflects the number of people who benefit from the exemption, detailing the members of a large family, and an application for financial compensation for proceed to the corresponding transfer.
On the other hand, students who have obtained a subsidy, aid, income or resource in order to face or cover the expense corresponding to the fee for carrying out said test by any Public Administration will not be able to benefit from this exemption from payment. , given its legal incompatibility.
