SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 18. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Government of the Canary Islands approved in its meeting on Thursday the first collective agreement of the company Televisión Pública de Canarias, SA, which regulates the working and salary conditions of the 400 workers of the company, while standardizing the nine different labor realities that They had been coexisting within it for years.

In the same way, the Executive gave the go-ahead to the authorization of a game of 2.8 million euros from the Ministry of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs, headed by Vice President Román Rodríguez, as a monetary contribution to the public company to meet the remuneration updates for the years 2022 and 2023.

The Government agreement, based on the generation of credit with additional funds, occurs after the requirements made by the General Directorate of Planning and Budget of the Ministry have been incorporated into the preliminary agreement signed in November 2022 by the company and the unions. of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs, reports the Executive in a note.

The Ministry, to which the public company is attached, has been the technical manager of the processing of the agreement in coordination with the sole administrator of Radio Televisión Canaria, Francisco Moreno, and the works council after a process of dialogue and negotiation for months to solve a historical labor problem.

The negotiation, “complex” because it had to homogenize nine different labor realities depending on their origin, the Government points out, began in accordance with the mandate issued by the decree law of June 2021 that allowed labor negotiations to begin.

With its approval, the instability generated by the expiration of the previous contract of Televisión Pública de Canarias, in June 2018, and the subsequent subrogation of the workers of the private company that was awarded the service, Videoreport, ends.

The agreement also includes workers from the island delegations, whose conditions were different from those of their colleagues from the capital islands.

Now the salary and labor conditions of all workers are now perfectly stipulated and homogenized in an agreement that was unanimously approved in assembly and whose validity extends until December 31, 2027, thus closing one of the “most important” chapters. convulsos” of Radio Televisión Canaria, which was on the point of ceasing its broadcasts in June 2018, they recall from the Government.
