They investigate the basketball player Josep Pérez Tomás after the complaint of rape of a young woman from Ourense

A young woman from Ourense has denounced the basketball player Josep Pérez Tomás for rape. The complaint refers to the events that occurred on January 10, when Tomás visited the city to play a LEB gold league match with what was his club at the time, Andorra.

As reported by the TSXG, “the Investigating Court number 2 of Ourense has initiated proceedings, on April 27, after receiving the report with a complaint filed by the alleged victim. The defendant (JPT), whose statement has not been taken in court for the moment, is being investigated for a crime of sexual assault.” The complaint was filed on February 15 with the Police, judicial sources explain, adding that there was a distribution procedure and it did not reach the court in charge of the case until April 2.

Since the end of February, Tomás no longer plays for the Principality team, but for Godella, in the silver LEB League. From their previous club they have issued a statement in which it is reported that they have been made aware of the complaint in the last hours and that they are making themselves available to justice, while condemning gender violence “without fissures” and offering “everything your support” to the victim.
