The City Council of La Laguna is committed, through the municipal water supply service, to a more sustainable consumption of water that guarantees the highest quality of supply. The concession company, Teidagua, intensifies efforts in order to ensure full access for all citizens to a basic resource.
The main objective is to promote the consumption of tap water in the municipality of La Laguna, within the framework of the commitments of the local Consistory with sustainable development and the circular economy.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, affirms that “it is of the highest priority to ensure the access of the neighbors to a fundamental good through the continuous improvement of quality controls.”
Teidagua has allocated a large amount of resources to the rehabilitation and modernization of the supply network, increasing capacity in those places where an increase in consumption is expected.
The renewal of those obsolete pipes has also been addressed in order to offer quality drinking water and with the maximum guarantees. “It is essential to accentuate our efforts in the service to overcome all the controls set by the health authorities,” said the mayor.
To achieve this objective, the concessionaire company applies the most advanced purification treatments and subjects the supplied water to continuous quality control. This allows it to have a medium-low salt content and average hardness values of around 25ºF.
reduce plastics
Through the promotion of the consumption of tap water, the aim is to face the challenge of reducing the consumption of plastic and the environmental impact. To this end, the company has made a strong commitment to the reuse and minimization of losses in the network, reductions in CO2 emissions or the redefinition of treatment plants in biofactories that allow, in addition to treating water, to be generators of energy and resources for other industrial sectors.
With sustainable development as its maxim, Teidagua invests in achieving the preservation and recovery of biodiversity in 100% of its facilities. In addition, working with sustainable suppliers is part of the company’s commitment to sustainable consumption and development.
