VALVERDE (THE IRON), 15 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Government of the Canary Islands and candidate for re-election for the PSOE, Ángel Víctor Torres, has promised this Monday that in the next school year there will be free education centers from zero to three years in the three municipalities of El Hierro: Valverde, La Border and El Pinar.
In statements to journalists accompanied by the candidate for the Cabildo, Alpidio Armas, Torres pointed out that education is a “basic pillar of the welfare state” and for this reason, if he is re-elected, the policies carried out will be “entrenched”. carried out during this Legislature.
Thus, he has given as an example the hiring of 3,000 teachers, the drop in school dropouts by almost half –from 20% to 11%–, the granting of scholarships to Dual Vocational Training students or the increase in Vocational Training centers and groups .
Regarding education from zero to three years, he indicated that “it is a fact of evident justice” that the island of El Hierro has this service because it is a “great help” for families since until now they could only resort to the support of the families or “pay” in a center, emphasizing that their goal is that by 2025 there will be 10,000 beds in the archipelago.
