The Cabildo de Tenerife developed the application last February ‘Tenerife On’ that allows users to plan their leisure time in the nature. Recently, the app has been updated with various improvements, among which are the inclusion of 20 new itineraries and functionalities both on the web platform and in the mobile application.

One of the new features available to users is geolocation on the interactive map. In addition, the start and end points of the routes are now linked to Google Maps, making it easy to locate and provide detailed instructions on how to get to the desired destination.

The application also has the maintenance of more than 20 itineraries distributed throughout the island of Tenerife. Some examples of these trails are the Pista de las Hiedras Trail, the Camino de los Pastores, Los Brezos, Risco Blanco and the Chacorche Ravine.

In the application, users can access photos, detailed information, descriptions and other interesting information about the trails, such as their location on a map, altimetry and the daily weather forecast.

This initiative draws on the feedback from federations and groups that have used ‘Tenerife On’ to carry out regular monitoring and receive constant updates. For this reason, it is planned to redesign the application profiles in order to make them more visual and provide a greater amount of information to facilitate route planning.
