The mayor of Tacoronte, José Daniel Díaz Armas, has once again questioned the project that the Regional Government’s Department of Public Works has submitted to public exhibition for the realization of the future third lane of the TF-5 because “its degree of condition or its A simple approach, in the middle of the electoral process, makes it unsustainable”, hence the request to bury the road.

The municipal president made this statement during a meeting with neighbors affected by the project requested by the neighborhood associations of Agua García, Barrio de La Luz and Camino de La Cuesta.

During the meeting, the attendees received information about the allegations that the City Council itself is going to formulate and whose meaning will be linked to “the effect on the territory, the roads and their connections, as well as burying as a priority in some areas and the intention to prevent various population centers from being affected and isolated, as well as the proposal to minimize the effects on private properties”.

In addition, all attendees were provided with information on the lines that affect properties, some of them linked to current conditions and others in relation to previous public works projects, collects a note from the City Council.

The council also clarified to those affected that the objective is for all residents to “know whether or not they are affected and inform them that they have until June 7 to present the allegations, to present their personal or particular considerations, as general on the via”.

The mayor remarked, after a neighborhood proposal, that it would be convenient that the term of allegations should be extended, since he also rejected that part of the actions of the institutions will be carried out with corporations that are in office.

ASK NEIGHBORS TO PRESENT ALLEGATIONS

During the meeting, José Daniel Díaz invited, in general, that “all the residents of the municipality formulate their allegations to this project”, because as he explained, “it is no longer a question of directly or personally affecting, but rather, a resident of El Pris or Agua García, for example, even though they are not close to this action, they may consider that this project, as it is proposed, has a special incidence on the territory and the road connections that will end up affecting them”.

Thus, he added that “it may be very good that the queues on the TF-5 are solved”, but he qualified that “it would also be good if it were done without affecting Tacoronte so negatively”.

“I am not against the construction of the third lane of the highway, but I am against the way in which it has been planted or tried to be imposed. Within the municipal allegations, we will propose the priority burying of the road as it passes through the municipality, since in La Laguna or El Sauzal this solution has been assumed without any problem, while in our municipality, where the greatest degree of affection is supported in properties and land, this solution that would minimize the effects and facilitate the connection problems that are observed with the current proposal for Public Works is not being considered,” he explained.

Tacoronte supports more than 60% of the expropriations of homes in the entire project, which covers six municipalities, for which Díaz also requested that “this measure must be taken into consideration and that other more sensitive ones be applied with the municipality.”
