SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 14. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the PP of the Canary Islands and candidate for the Presidency of the regional government, Manuel Domínguez, has shown himself convinced that “the time has come for the Popular Party, also in Tenerife, because it has the best candidates and the best teams”.
During the presentation of the Tenerife PP candidates to Parliament, the Cabildo and the town halls, held yesterday in Santiago del Teide, Manuel Domínguez assured that the Canary Islands PP “has a voice, has ideas and has a plan to govern, something extremely necessary considering that in these four years we have suffered the worst government at the worst moments, we have suffered a victimizing government that has not known how to live up to it,” he said.
Manuel Domínguez stated that those who said “that they came to save the Canaries and presented themselves as the most social government in history today leave the Canary Islands as the autonomous community with the highest poverty rate in all of Spain.” “In the face of the adversities that families are going through to make it to the end of the month, in the face of the collapse of our emergencies, in the face of waiting times in health, we must go out and convince the canaries that a change is possible” Dominguez said.
In this sense, the PP candidate for the Presidency of the regional Government had words of thanks to all the affiliates and supporters “who are proxies, auditors, who are at the headquarters working in the shadows and who give us the necessary push to move forward “. “If the strength of a building lies in its foundations, the strength of the PP lies in you because you are the ones who bear the load and keep this party standing,” he stressed.
He also dedicated a few words of support to Lope Afonso and was convinced that he will be the next president of the Cabildo de Tenerife: “We are facing a man who took a step back, without anyone asking him, so as not to harm the PP. A man upright, who they tried to overthrow in court because they couldn’t do it at the polls”.
Regarding the candidate for the Parliament of Tenerife, Rebeca Paniagua, he highlighted her “commitment, courage and having taken a step forward under the acronym of the Popular Party”. “I am more than prepared to be the next president of the Canary Islands and I owe this conviction to all of you, to all the candidates who will represent the PP in each municipality of Tenerife, in the Cabildo and in Parliament,” said Domínguez, who encouraged to continue working “to improve the Canary Islands together”.
For his part, the PP candidate for the Cabildo de Tenerife, Lope Afonso, began his speech by showing the pride of leading this candidacy and advanced that if he becomes president he will be at the side of all the municipalities and their neighbors, because he believes that together It is the best way to deploy the island’s potential and, above all, because an answer must be given to the people of Tenerife “who have been waiting for years for managers”.
For Afonso, “Tenerife has had bad records for a long time regarding the destruction of jobs, the disappearance of companies, the largest number of demands for socio-sanitary beds, excessive health waiting list times, or a completely collapsed road system. We are going to change the pace for Tenerife, we are the true alternative to change and we are going to lead the solutions and not the frustrations”.
“We will do what others have not been able to do: put the general interest ahead of the individual, looking for good political solutions, building bridges so that there is understanding and ensuring that Tenerife has a clear and stable roadmap over time”, said Lope Afonso, while assuring that he has the conviction to go out and compete, saying that “the best option to govern Spain, the Canary Islands and Tenerife is the Popular Party, and on May 28, it will be the people of Tenerife who will speak for us in the urns”.
The PP candidate for the Parliament of Tenerife, Rebeca Paniagua, stated that she assumes this challenge “with great responsibility” and advanced that together with her colleagues she will work “very hard to build an island among all and for all, and so that Manuel Domínguez is the next president of the Canary Islands”.
Finally, the president of the PP of Tenerife and candidate for Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, assured that he feels very proud of the men and women who will defend the island in each Tenerife municipality, “because they and their teams are the that will lead Lope Afonso to the presidency of the Cabildo de Tenerife, and Manuel Domínguez to preside over the Government of the Canary Islands”.
“The Canary Islands and Tenerife deserve a government that fights for its people, and we deserve a government that works to offer us a more social land with greater and better opportunities,” said Navarro, for whom “the airs of change are already breathing, and the Next May 28, the people of Tenerife will witness that a Tenerife can be made among all and for all with the Popular Party”, he concluded.
