The PSOE of La Laguna, through its candidate and current mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, has made public the commitment to connect the Los Baldíos neighborhood with the center of La Laguna through a pedestrian itinerary that will run parallel to the TF highway. -265, known as Camino San Francisco de Paula.
The road powers in the area belong to the Cabildo de Tenerife. For this reason, the signing of an agreement between the municipality and the island institution will be promoted so that the City Council can carry out the project and enable this pedestrian zone and a bicycle lane that connects the two population centers.
The leader of the Laguna socialists asserts that the objective of this project is to unite the neighborhood of Los Baldíos with the center of La Laguna, an initiative that is intended to be extrapolated to other neighborhoods and towns in the municipality. This connection will take advantage of the characteristics of the environment close to the road.
“We want to make it the first section of a beltway that allows our municipality to be crossed on foot or by bicycle with all the guarantees of safety for pedestrians,” says Luis Yeray Gutiérrez.
Other similar actions that form part of the commitments acquired by the PSOE of La Laguna refer to the conditioning of the Valle Tabares crossing (TF-111) and the completion of Avenida Embajador Alberto de Armas. In both cases, separate agreements will be promoted with the Cabildo de Tenerife in order to fulfill the commitment acquired with the citizenry.
The content of the La Laguna PSOE program is divided into five major strategic axes, designed to build a municipality with more social justice, more sustainable, more participatory and more innovative.
axes
The first axis is called The most sustainable Lagoon, and it includes the commitments aimed at completing the adaptation of neighborhoods and towns to the challenges posed by climate change.
The second strategic axis is called La Laguna plus personal and collective well-being, in which the identification of a land reserve for the construction of subsidized housing is contemplated as the main action.
The most egalitarian, supportive and inclusive Lagoon is the third strategic axis of the electoral program of the socialists. It includes measures such as promoting the detection, together with the local commercial fabric and with neighborhood and neighborhood associations, of situations of social isolation of older people.
The fourth axis is La Laguna, more transparent and participatory. In general, the commitments included in this section are aimed at deepening the principles of Open Government, further promoting transparency.
Lastly, the fifth strategic axis is called the safest Lagoon, which considers the construction of the new Local Police Station; the promotion of the community police model, as well as the promotion of safe environments and paths to educational centers.
