The platform Tenerife ON, the virtual guide of the Cabildo de Tenerife, incorporates 22 new itineraries. The information it provides includes updated functionalities, as well as a route planning manual or a filter that lists the most accessible trails. The official tool of the Island Corporation to design leisure in nature presents notable innovations, such as the inclusion of these new routes in the database or the incorporated utilities. Currently more than 13,000 people use the application and around 21,000 are web users.

It should be noted, among the new resources available, the geolocation on the interactive map. The start and end of the routes are linked to Google Maps for easy location and on-site instructions on how to get to your desired destination.

The platform adds to its list the maintenance of these more than 20 itineraries distributed throughout the different areas of the Island. Some correspond to such emblematic spaces as Pista de las Hiedras (Anaga massif), Camino de los Pastores (Teno Rural Park) , Los Brezos (Araya, Candelaria), Risco Blanco (Teno) or the Barranco de Chacorche (Igueste de Candelaria). In the application, photographs, information sheet, description and other elements of interest are available for people interested in traveling through there. Also its location on a map, altimetry or daily weather.

This initiative is fed back, as a fact to highlight, from the opinion of federations and groups that have already used Tenerife ON for regular monitoring and constant updates. As a result, a redesign of the profiles is planned to make the content more visual and generate a greater volume of information when planning routes, so that citizens have all the necessary data to enjoy safe leisure in the environment. natural.

To know all the utilities, you can access it through the official website (tenerifeon.com) or its free application available both in the App Store model and in the Play Store.

Another of the great novelties of the ‘app’ is the specific geolocation on the interactive map

The area of Management of the Natural Environment and Safety of the Council of Tenerife launched in February of this year the application Tenerife ON for mobile phones and a website as the official platform for trails and leisure spaces in the nature of the Island. A virtual guide.

The objective for the promotion of this tool, open to all, regulars of the Tenerife mountains and sporadic users, is to raise awareness about the responsible use of nature and to raise awareness regarding the protection of the environment. They show itineraries to be carried out on foot, on horseback, by bicycle or by vehicle. engine.

The information covers 40 facilities, as well as almost 200 trailsafter this update, in addition to the 43 protected natural spaces of the Island. It includes almost a thousand kilometers of roads in the mountains, around 180 forest tracks, 18 routes for bicycles and horses, 26 routes for motor vehicles, more than 20 recreational areas and 26 rest areas, as well as 14 camping areas and 3 camps.

The app includes warnings and alerts in the event that the itineraries are totally or partially cut off, as well as weather information and search filters to customize the route based on physical possibilities. The use of Tenerife ON will avoid rescues of people in those areas that should not or cannot be entered.

Tenerife ON can be used without telephone coverage, it offers a very complete interactive map with all the available routes and their data of interest, as well as a suggestion service to collect the evaluations of the public, the interests of each user or those trails related to those already done before.
