SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 13. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The candidate of Ciudadanos (Cs) to the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Isabel Bello, has raised a deduction in the IRPF of the cost of renting or buying the house with a limit of 3,000 euros, since access to housing “is the problem most important problem faced by the citizens of the Canary Islands, given that the supply is insufficient, which has led to an exorbitant increase in prices in recent years”.
Given this, Isabel Bello explained that in order to solve the problem of scarcity and increase the offer, Ciudadanos proposes that in those areas of consolidated urban land the owners be allowed an extra buildable height above the limits established by the planning, provided that Part of these new flats are dedicated to subsidized housing.
On the other hand, regarding the price, he proposes that tax deductions of up to 3,000 euros be established for young people and families with two or more children, who are the new large family. “These groups are the ones who face the costs of access to housing with the greatest difficulty, and in this way we will avoid that in some cases they end up devoting 60% of their income to this purpose,” he said.
In this line, Bello recalls that the current deductions in the Canary Islands “are limited to a 20% reduction in the Personal Income Tax (IRPF), with a maximum limit of 600 euros, on the amounts for rental of the Habitual housing”. With which, he assured that the Ciudadanos proposal “will facilitate access to housing for these two groups.”
“Access to the real estate market has been a challenge for young people for some time and we are aware that it is a problem that is spreading more and more among the population. With this measure, we will help give young people security by allowing them to access a home, at the same time that we will strengthen the economy of families,” said Bello.
