The current mayor and PSOE candidate for mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutierrezconfirms the commitment of his political party to facilitate access to housing to those people who have greater difficulties, as is the case of under 35 years. The price of housing is one of the main reasons that prevent those under 35 years of age from being emancipated, so this is one of the outstanding measures within the electoral program of the PSOE for La Laguna.
“I defend that housing is a basic need and a fundamental right, key to achieving a more just and egalitarian society, which is why this is one of the initiatives that we will develop, we want to have a really significant public housing stock, which responds to the most vulnerable people”, affirms the leader of the socialists of La Laguna.
Luis Yeray Gutiérrez explains that in order to fulfill this commitment, over the next four years, the existence of land reserves for subsidized or equivalent housing within urban planning will be identified and analyzed. “This will allow us to promote new actions in other areas, neighborhoods and urban parks, always with criteria of accessibility and zero energy consumption”, he details.
The candidate and current mayor emphasizes that another of the commitments that the PSOE of La Laguna acquires with the citizens is that the system of aid for housing payments will be reinforced and we will expand the social and affordable rental park.
Likewise, victims of gender violence will be one of the priority groups when it comes to accessing social housing programs, “because it is everyone’s responsibility to seek a quick solution for those who see their lives and those of their loved ones in danger every day.” children, while they live with their abuser”, he affirms. Another of the commitments with La Laguna is to promote shared housing programs, intergenerational housing and other coexistence alternatives for the elderly and young.
