SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 12. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Granadilla de Abona City Council has issued a statement this Friday in which it describes as “absolutely false” the criticisms made by the environmental group ‘Salvar La Tejita’ about an alleged crime of manipulation of documents and another of urban corruption related to construction of the hotel.

The consistory accuses the platform of “manipulating reality” and maintains that it has not been notified of any judicial process or a complaint filed with the Prosecutor’s Office.

However, it specifies that “if it were true”, from the moment it was informed, it would appear in person to give the corresponding response and the appropriate legal actions would be taken.

In fact, it continues, “there is no evidence that these statements about such complaints have been taken into consideration by the Prosecutor’s Office, for which reason they will proceed to denounce those responsible for launching slander and for the improper instrumentalization of the administration of justice.”

The municipal government group claims to “have a very clear conscience” and adds that the “false” content of the complaint and evidence “a clear intention to manipulate public opinion” due to the proximity of the elections.

As for the judicial actions, and if there were any procedure, they point out from the City Council, “they will be for slander and attack on honor and for false denunciation.”

The municipal government points out that citizens “know how to recognize this type of manipulative practices of public opinion by those who do try to instrumentalize the administration of justice.”
