He Arona Town Hall has carried out, in recent weeks, performances of conditioning and renovation of the facilities of the coast Township.
In this sense, we have proceeded to renew the ceiling of the facilities of the Coastal Management Service and the Salvage Service on Las Vistas beach, which, due to the marine environment, specifically the saltpeter, showed signs of deterioration.
In addition, a perimeter fence has been carried out around the baths in front of Plaza de la Alpispa, on Los Cristianos beach. The fencing has been carried out to improve the appearance of their surroundings and an ‘electro-welded’ mesh has been used, which has been installed on the sides and in the rear area of the bathrooms.
On the other hand, sand movements have been carried out on Las Vistas beach, thus replacing it in the breakwater area, close to the Los Cristianos pier, which was devoid of sand due to the action of the wind.
The work of the Environment and Sustainability Area of the Arona City Council, with this continuous modernization of resources, aims to always have the beaches at the levels of quality and cleanliness that a leading tourist destination at a national and European level like Arona requires.
Not in vain, thanks to this work, Arona has become this year the Tenerife municipality with the most blue flags on its beaches, recovering the banner for Los Cristianos beach, and maintaining the same one in Las Vistas and El Camisón. This award is granted by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac).
Arona continuously works on the maintenance and improvement of its coastline, and in the last year the inclusion of new structures and resources on the different beaches of the municipality have been carried out, such as the improvement of the modules of the Salvage service; the placement of the shaded area, with a 60-square-meter pergola and its corresponding wooden walkway in Los Cristianos, in addition to the new public toilets, as well as new public toilets and showers in Playa Honda, which join the lifeguard service , with two troops, every day of the year.
Likewise, four webcams have been installed in Playa Honda, El Camisón, Las Vistas and Los Cristianos, for the transmission of live images. These cameras allow you to verify their status, the weather, the waves, as well as the influx.
