From April 24 to May 5, the town of Tamaimo will host workshops, shows, routes and ephemeral exhibitions of crosses and compositions.
On the occasion of the Day of the Cross, the town of Tamaimo will host a new edition of one of the most emblematic cultural events on the island “CRUX23” organized by the Santiago del Teide City Council.
The activities began on Monday, April 24 and Tuesday, April 25 with the Crux23 cooking workshop that took place at the Tamaimo Social Center and was taught by chef Pablo Pastor. This Friday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Plaza Santa Ana de Tamaimo, the program of events will begin with the musical show “Vuelta al Origen” by José Manuel Ramos, which will lead to the inauguration of the Crux23 exhibition. .
On Saturday, April 29, “CruXarte Tamaimo, Un Paseo de Arte” will take place, a route that will visit the squares where crosses and ephemeral compositions by island artists are exhibited. There will be two times for this activity: at 8:30 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m. The places where the activity will take place are the following:

On April 30, starting at 08:00 in the morning, the Route of the Cross will be carried out, guided by the Grupo de Senderistas La Cruz.
On May 2 there will be a “Floral Cross Creation Workshop” aimed at children from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and to adults from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to be held at the Tamaimo Social Center .
The jury of the “Ornate Crosses on Facades Contest 2023” will visit the participating crosses as part of the “CRUX23” event on May 3 at 10:00 a.m. the decision of the jury of the crosses contest and will have the stellar performance of “Los Sabandeños”. Later, in the same square, there will be a Leg Cutting Workshop and tasting with the master cutter Fran Alonso.
On May 4 at 5:00 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Center, the Heritage Days “Senses and Discernments of the Cross” will take place with the presence of Manuel Jesús Hernández González, art historian who will offer a talk entitled “The Cross of May: Fiesta and Devotion in the Canary Islands».
On May 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Center, the closing ceremony and awards ceremony of the crosses contest will take place with the performance of Víctor Estárico and Belinda Falcón with their musical show «Violetas».
BOCA-TAPA ROUTE CRUX23
On the occasion of the Crux23 event that takes place in the town of Tamaimo, the Boca-Tapa Route is also organized in parallel, in which 4 catering establishments from the town of Tamaimo participate, which will make available to residents, visitors and others different sandwiches at a price of €4 accompanied free of charge by a glass of the new Barlia Rosé wine.
The participating establishments are: Bar Tamay, Arepera Girasol, Cafeteria Tindaya and Mesón Tamaimo that will use the leg as the main ingredient in their preparations.
