The nucleus of San Isidro, in Granadilla de Abona, celebrated yesterday the first pilgrimage of the year in the municipality, a month before the pilgrimage of San Antonio is celebrated in the town of Granadilla.
San Isidro thus ended its big week after starting on April 29 with its XI Baile de Taifa, in which around two thousand people gathered at the fairgrounds. The programming continued on Wednesday with the gala for the election of the children’s queen, and the grand gala for the adult queen a day later.
The Canarian wrestling and the Parranderos Meeting will be on Friday, bringing together hundreds of people on Friday at the Pollito wrestling ground in the San Isidro neighborhood, as well as the Noche Joven with Robertito, Yeray Infame and DJs Renzzo and Fabrizzio. On Saturday, the Day of Traditions took place in the Plaza de la Cultura, giving way to the Day of the Elderly, at the fairgrounds, with the great gala for the election of the elders and the performances of voices in the distance and Pepe Benavente, ending with dancing by Tropin and Amanecer de La Gomera.
The XLIII Pilgrimage took to the streets after the pilgrimage mass in the parish church, around 12:00, with the traditional procession of floats along Santa Cruz avenue and the offering to San Isidro Labrador and Santa María de la Cabeza in front of the hermitage, this time with the route from the lower area of the avenue to the upper one, with the participation for two hours of ten floats and hundreds of pilgrims and pilgrims. The pilgrimage day concluded last night with a festival enlivened by Aparranda2, Atlantic, Sabrosa and Gomera.

The rest of the program for the San Isidro festivities includes the Memories of a People Festival and a concert on May 10; Children’s Day, May 11, and the neighborhood up and down neighborhood match in La Palmera municipal field; the I Somos Pueblo Concert with Chajora, Magec, Los Sabadeños, and Tribute to Juan Luis Guerra by the Sabrosa Orchestra, on May 12, and the Route of the Senses with tapas and wines on Paseo Cha Joaquina and a great dance, on Saturday may 13th.
On May 14, the eve of San Isidro Labrador, at 7:00 p.m., the mass is celebrated in his honor, with a procession and, at the end, a fireworks display, and on May 15, patron day there will be mass and procession to the same hour, and dance of the broom.
