The Icelandic low-cost airline PLAY will join between December 20, 2023 and will be in force until April 10, 2024, the fuerteventura island with the country’s capital, Reykjavik.
This has been reported by the ‘low cost’ in a statement in which it adds that it will be the only airline to offer direct flights between both destinations.
PLAY currently flies from Barcelona, Madrid, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Alicante, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca to Reykjavik. Likewise, for the 2024 winter season, it will increase its capacity on the routes to Tenerife and Alicante.
For its part, the Fuerteventura-Reykjavik flights for the winter of 2024 can be booked on flyplay.com starting this Thursday, May 4.
The CEO of PLAY, Birgir Jonsson, explained that “in the first quarter of 2023 we have increased our ASKs (Available Seat Kilometers, for its acronym in English) by 229% compared to the same period of 2022 and we expect to continue building on this base in the coming years”.
“As part of the long-term investment in building a route network, we are introducing several new improvements in the 2023-2024 winter season, such as this new Fuerteventura-Reykjavik route,” he concluded.
