The day started with good conditions for the 75 young participants to play, but the day became more complicated and ended with more adverse weather conditions that meant that the young Canarian academy had to get the best out of themselves. to overcome a course that was in excellent condition for playing golf.
As for the rankings, in Junior, Ana Malcolm, with 76 strokes, and David Vega, with an excellent figure of 69, with a round of two under par, took the classification scratch. It should be remembered that David Vega already won the Circuit in 2020. For his part, Carlota Pérez, with 64, and Fernando de Andrés, with 67, were the first classified Handicap of the category.
In Children, the best scratch They were Sofia Henningsen, with 78, and Alvaro Febles, with 71; while the classification Handicap it was headed by Edurne Gil with 70 strokes, among the girls, and Paul Molinawith 60 among the boys.
Lucia Uribewith 92 strokes, and Oscar Herwingwith 80, were the first classified scratch fry; while María del Pino Uribe, with 71, and Diego Crespo, with 69, prevailed in the classification Handicap of the category.
Finally, among the youngest participants in the Circuit of the Benjamin category, Isabella Cabeza and Nicolás Kopecky were the best scratch; and Carla Lucía Aragón and Leo Calasanzio took the classification Handicap.
The tournament that kicked off the Rafa Cabrera Bello Youth Circuit concluded with the awarding of prizes to the winners of the different categories, a ceremony that was attended by Enma Cabrera, Rafa’s sister, and Miguel Cuesta, sports director of the Real Club de Golf de Tenerife, and Coral Guerra, member of the Circuit Organizing Committee.
The next appointment will be on May 28 at Maspalomas Golf. In addition, the circuit will be completed with tests at the Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas, on July 24; Costa Teguise Golf and Lanzarote Golf, on September 9 and 10; Meloneras Golf, on October 1; and the grand final, as every year, at the dean club of Spanish golf, in December.
