Close to the citizenry

The island councilor points out: “The objective is to collaborate with the municipalities in policies and actions that encourage neighborhood participation in the community environment, in activities that contribute to enriching local life and arouse their interest.”
For the development of the subsidized actions, an execution period of one year has been set, which covers from June 2023 to June 2024. There are three criteria to apply in the economic distribution. Thus, it is provided that 35% of the amount to be granted, 70,000 euros, be distributed linearly among all the municipalities that request the subsidy and meet the conditions required in the bases. Your goal is guarantee a minimum, sufficient and equal distribution for all beneficiary municipalities.
The second criterion is population. The distribution of 15%, 30,000 euros, is contemplated proportionally to the inhabitants in order to obtain a supplement to the financing of the projects based on the potential number of beneficiaries.
As a novelty, this year’s call includes a third criterion in which a series of preferred targets. A distribution of 50%, 100,000 euros, is collected among all the projects that are aimed at achieving one of the following objectives: mainstreaming citizen participation; develop a participation plan; develop or update a regulation in this area; create structures for citizen, child and adolescent participation, as well as a municipal network of associations, and, finally, design and implement processes for participatory budgets.
It will be the city councils themselves that will indicate the preferential criteria to which the actions they present respond. Another novelty is that the project can be presented after the provisional resolution proposal – it is a condition to obtain the subsidy, having a period of 10 business days for it. This is an advantage, since itIn this way, they will discover what money they have to develop their initiatives.
