SAN SEBASTIAN DE LA GOMERA, May 6. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The candidate for the presidency of the Cabildo de La Gomera and the Parliament of the Canary Islands for ASG, Casimiro Curbelo, has insisted on strengthening social and health care on the island, from the planning and expansion of the network of centers in the island, as well as home care.
As reported by the party in a statement, the proposal of its formation to materialize the planned infrastructure in Agulo, whose project was approved this week by the insular Institution, also advanced.
“Social welfare is one of our programmatic axes. Socio-health care is a fundamental pillar of a society of equals and, in this case, we face the challenge of dimensioning the provision of services of this type, to reach more dependent people than what demand,” Curbelo said.
Here, he added that this is the first of the three centers foreseen in the planning proposed by ASG, which also includes the one in Agulo and the one that will be carried out in Valle Gran Rey, “and that they will complement those that already exist in other parts of the island”.
In this sense, he assured that “any public resource destined for this purpose is a very good investment, because it becomes a guarantee of assistance and an improvement in the quality of life of the residents of La Gomera.”
Finally, Curbelo recalled that in the last four years more than 20 million euros have been allocated to social and health care, “and with the proposal we have on the table, there is a forecast of allocating more than 42 million in the coming years, to that we have sufficient capacity to provide care to dependents without the need for them to leave their island”.
