SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 4. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands has agreed this Thursday, at the proposal of the Minister of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, Julio Pérez, to give its approval to the decree approving the public employment offer of the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police ( CGPC) for 2023, an offer that includes a total of 100 new positions, of which eighty correspond to the general free access system and twenty to internal promotion, and which will allow the Autonomous Police to reach 459 troops.
Previously and also through another decree proposed by the head of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, the Governing Council has approved the expansion, by one hundred jobs, of the CGPC job catalogue, which now has 576 jobs.
Specifically, it increases by 20 positions the 40 of the employment of URO officer -Operative Resources Unit- (subgroup C1), of the Basic Scale, and by 80 positions the 317 of the employment of URO police (subgroup C1), also of the Scale Basic, from the CGPC job catalog reflected in the annex to Decree 225/2022, of December 7, which in turn expands the one approved by Decree 108/2021, of November 11, includes a note from the Executive.
This extension, with which it intends to facilitate the deployment of the CGPC throughout all the islands – a deployment that is now achieved not without organizational difficulties and a personal effort by the police themselves – is based on the fourteenth additional provision, first paragraph, of Law 7/2022, of December 28, on the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands for 2023; Article 3 and 31 of Law 2/2008, of May 28, of the CGPC; and article 48 of Organic Law 2/1986, of March 13, on Security Forces and Corps.
Once the decree is approved, the catalog is constituted by a chief curator or commissioner, provided by the procedure of free appointment with public call, and may be freely removed; two main commissioners or commissioners, who will gain access to this job by merit competition among the CGPC commissioners or commissioners, the equivalent commanders of the Security Forces and Corps or the senior officers of the Armed Forces; a commissioner or commissioner of the Mobile Brigade (Brimo), who will be provided by specific competition, and three commissioners or commissioners of the URO, who will reach this position by competition among officials who are in the situation of active service in the employment of deputy commissioners, have a minimum of two years of seniority in said job, have not been penalized for committing a serious or very serious offense, unless the penalty has been cancelled, and have the required qualifications.
In addition, the catalog provides for two deputy commissioners or deputy commissioners of the Brimo and eight deputy commissioners or deputy commissioners of the URO, the first by specific competition and the second by free opposition competition, with reservation of up to 50% of the places for CGPC officials who they are in the situation of active service in the job of inspector and meet the aforementioned conditions for commissioners; two inspectors from the Brimo and ten from the URO, with access by specific competition and merit, respectively, among CGPC officials who are in the situation of active service in the job of sub-inspector and meet the already detailed requirements, and four sub-inspectors of the Brimo and eighteen of the URO, elected under the same procedure as the inspectors, except that they will come from those who have the job of official.
Precisely, the catalog includes eight officers from the Brimo and sixty from the URO, appointed through a specific competition and competition-opposition from among the police officers with at least two years of seniority, who had not been subject to a firm sanction for the commission of a serious misdemeanor. or very serious, unless it has been cancelled, and sixty police officers from Brimo and 397 from the URO, who will access by specific competition and free opposition, respectively.
