SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 2. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Aula Magna of the Central Building has been the place chosen by the Rectorate for the inauguration today Tuesday of the eight vice-chancellors who will accompany the new rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco García, in his six-year term. The manager of the academic center will do so shortly, once the Social Council has been heard.
The event was held in the presence of numerous administration and service personnel and also the former rector Antonio Martinón. Francisco García stressed that the ceremony was part of the “democratic normality” in which the change of mandate from the outgoing rector, Rosa Aguilar, to the incoming one, has taken place, which shows the “solidity” of the institution, he said, that ” works fully”.
He thanked the services rendered by the previous team and said he was facing his mandate, now six years under the new regulatory framework, with “excitement and enthusiasm.” The rector was very convinced of his “commitment to public service” and of the availability of the board of directors to “leave its shoulder” and work for the improvement of the institution.
The rector added that a time of many changes is coming before the new regulatory scenario marked by the Organic Law of the University System (LOSU), with many challenges to face.
The following vice-chancellors have taken office today: Antonio Aparicio Juan, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Transfer; Alfonso Ruiz Rallo, vice-rector for Teaching and Research Staff; José Manuel García Fraga, vice-rector for Teaching; Candela Díaz García, Vice Chancellor for Sustainability and Infrastructures; Vicente José Blanco Pérez, Vice Chancellor for Digital Transformation; Isabel Karely León Pérez, Vice Chancellor for Culture and University Extension; Mª Rosario Hernández Borges, Vice-Rector for Students and Mª Inmaculada González Pérez, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation.
