After this ceremony the dance of magicians will begin. Starting at 10:00 p.m., a total of six parrandas will sound in Campo Castro: Tonique, Nijota, Farutes del Atlántico, Peña del Lunes, Parranda Medianía and Gualhequeya. In the Plaza de Europa, the usual Taifa Dances will also be held with: Orígenes, Aceviños, Princesa Dácil and Delicias del Teide, who will perform with their respective dance groups. Forecast
The celebration of the dance of wizards in the middle of a bridge suggests that the attendance at this popular act will be massive. Last year, the first after the pandemic, the influx of public rose to 14,000 people, the highest figure in recent years, in which it had always been around 10,000 people. In addition, this year, as the number of tables has increased, almost 60 more than in 2022, it also helps the expectation of influx to be high.
The program of festive events also includes the Exhibition of Traditional Canarian Flowers, Plants and Crafts, which will remain open in the García Sanabria park until Sunday, the 7th, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The regional exhibition will feature musical performances, children’s workshops, spaces dedicated to Canarian crafts and gastronomy, the Book Fair and the usual representations of Gorgorito.
The programming of the different acts of the May 2023 Fiestas can be consulted on the website www.fiestasdesantacruz.com, as well as in the different municipal social profiles.
