The García Sanabria Park hosts a new edition of the Exhibition of Flowers, Plants and Crafts

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The forty-sixth edition of the Exhibition of Flowers, Plants and Traditional Canarian Crafts will open to the public this Monday at 12:00 noon in Parque García Sanabria. The exhibition will remain open to the public until Sunday, May 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and has a program of activities for all ages.

The event will be attended by the mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, and the Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello. The Municipal Music Band of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which recently celebrated its 120th anniversary, will provide musical entertainment for this event. The opening day itself already includes the first of Gorgorito’s functions, as well as different workshops and environmental activities in the tent of the Fundación Santa Cruz Sostenible.

The García Sanabria Park will host 11 plant exhibitors; another 42 tents for the exhibition and sale of traditional and contemporary craft products, as well as 17 stands corresponding to the gastronomic exhibition. Children’s workshops, inflatables, food trucks, an exhibition and concerts complete the show’s agenda.

On the stage located in the surroundings of the Fuente de la Fecundidad, a musical program will be developed by folkloric groups during all the days of the exhibition. On the opening day, the Verode formation will perform at 7:00 p.m. The following day it will be the turn of the Idayra and Malvasia de Taganana groups, at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., respectively.

On the Day of the Cross, a triple performance is scheduled: at 12:00 noon the Tajaraste collective and in the evening Aguerche and Los Campitos, who will perform at 6:00 and 7:00 pm. On Thursday, Parranda la Era and Alborada Canaria will take the stage, at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. At the same time, but on Friday, the 5th, Alcorán and Parranda Santo Ángel will take part in the program.

Three performances will take place over the weekend at 12:00, 18:00 and 19:00, with the participation of Payba San Andrés, Virgen de la Alegría and Bienmesabe on Saturday. On Sunday, the closing day, Sueños del Teide will perform at 12:00 noon and Raíces de Anaga at 6:00 p.m.

Gorgorito de Maese Villarejo will offer a total of eleven performances in its usual location, next to the Flower Clock of the García Sanabria Park and with free admission to daily performances starting at 6:00 p.m., to which are added those of a special nature that will take place on May 1 and 3 at 12:00 p.m. and on May 4 at 11:00 a.m.

Added to these spaces is the Book Fair organized by the Association of Booksellers of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Asprolite, which during this week plans, in addition to the exhibition of books, to hold a series of workshops, signing copies, talks and presentations.

On the other hand, this Monday the jury in charge of deciding the prizes of the Exhibition of Flowers, Plants and Canarian Crafts will meet. Specialists in florists, gardening and handicrafts will visit the García Sanabria exhibitors to determine this year’s winners in the different categories.

The theme of the children’s Drawing and Painting contest for children between 3 and 12 years old will be ‘Corners of the García Sanabria Park’ and the registration applications, together with the work already done on DIN A4 size white cardboard, can be physically presented at the OAFAR stand, located in the roundabout of the Fuente de la Fecundidad of Parque García y Sanabria, from May 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
