SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
La Laguna joins the International Jazz Day celebrations with a varied program of musical performances scheduled for this Sunday, April 30, which will begin at 4:00 p.m. with outdoor events, parades, swing classes and a concert by of the trio A Few Colors.
The last day of April brings with it a way of valuing jazz as an educational tool and for promoting peace, dialogue and cooperation between peoples from all over the world.
In the case of La Laguna, the Department of Culture and the Autonomous Organization of Musical Activities intend to highlight the cultural exchange that favors jazz, as well as free interpretation and the mixture of rhythms.
In the Plaza de la Concepción, the Paradise Swing cultural association will give an open class on this eminently orchestral style of jazz starting at 4:00 p.m. At 4:30 p.m. a parade will begin that will depart from the Plaza del Adelantado to the Plaza de la Concepción.
Later, there will be performances by Le Good Swing at 5:00 p.m., EMA Big Band at 6:30 p.m., and Arrasate Musikal Big Band, which will close the afternoon of events abroad.
The international nature of jazz also provides opportunities for local artists, who seek to gain a foothold in the music industry. This is the case of A Few Colors, a jazz fusion trio from Tenerife that will visit the Teatro Leal to present their third work The Power of Fussion.
Eliseo Lloreda, Felu Morales and Pedro Marcos, members of the group, will offer a musical display at the level of the talent they concentrate, starting at 8:00 pm in the Chamber Hall of the Teatro Leal.
