LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA, 29 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
United Sí Podemos (Podemos Canarias, Izquierda Unida Canaria and Sí Se Puede) is concluding the process of participatory preparation of the electoral program, with which the confluence will compete in the regional and local elections on May 28, through the celebration of open assemblies on all the islands.
In this regard, Noemí Santana, candidate for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands for the confluence of the left, has expressed an “enormous illusion” in relation to the participatory process of collecting proposals.
“On May 28 we have the opportunity to offer the Canary Islands a dignified horizon, of sustainability and rights and it is proud to see our people mobilizing throughout the Archipelago to contribute ideas to make it possible,” he said.
The meetings, which have taken place in Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, La Palma and Fuerteventura, have brought together civil society, specialists from various fields and members of the organizations that make up the progressive coalition (Podemos Canarias, Sí Se Puede and Izquierda Unida Canaria) in “spaces for work, reflection and exchange” whose conclusions will lead to “an ambitious program to win the archipelago on May 28”.
Santana thanked the experts “from the most diverse fields” who have supported the preparation process, including figures such as Esther Ortega (CCOO secretary in Gran Canaria), Teresa Mateo (lawyer in the AHINOR Canarias housing association) , José Joaquín O’Shanahan (responsible for the UNESCO Chair of Local Health Systems) or Antonio González Viéitez (economist, former advisor to the Government of the Canary Islands and former deputy in Parliament).
The electoral program will be presented to the public in the coming days and it will contain “forceful” proposals in terms of economic diversification, labor advances and sustainability and care of the territory.
