This is the route between cliffs that you cannot miss in the Canary Islands

The Teno massif, in Tenerifehides a secret: the Masca ravine. It is one of the routes that has gained the most popularity in recent years, due to the beauty of its landscape and the complexity of its orography. Its stony beauty and the fact that it is the natural habitat of very fragile life forms have made this path one of the most attractive on the Island.. In fact, access to it has had to be regulated by the Cabildo de Tenerife, since there was a great demand for visits. In order to ensure the conservation of the space, increase the safety of its visitors and reinforce the quality of the experience, the number of daily places has been limited with the following hours:

In summer (between March and October)

Descent and ascent option: From 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (25 seats every 30 minutes). It is not possible to do it in the opposite direction.

The rest of the year (From October to March):

Descent and ascent option: From 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (30 seats every 30 minutes). It is not possible to do it in the opposite direction.

He opening hours of the road extends between 8:30 and 18:00 hours. The Masca Visitor Center opens its doors half an hour in advance to carry out access control.

For those who are interested in doing the route, they should take into account that the ascent from the beach must start no later than 2:00 p.m.. Given the difficulty in finding parking, it is best to access by public transport. It is necessary to manage the reservationsince along the way, there are different control points, where the documentation will be requested.

It is mandatory to have footwear, clothing and material adequate to carry out the activity safely. Finally, it should be noted that children under eight years of age are not admitted. Minors (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a responsible adult. From the regulatory body, it is emphasized that the path of the Masca ravine is not a walk, but that it has a certain hardness and difficulty.

through the platform www.caminobarrancodemasca.comyou can manage the previous reservation.

Public transport

Line 355, which connects Buenavista, Masca and Santiago del Teide, has four departures from Isla Baja: at 9:45 am, 12:00 pm, 3:45 pm and 5:55 pm. Of these times, only two would be compatible with an excursion to the ravine.

From Santiago del Teide leaves for Masca at 11:00 a.m., 1:10 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. Currently, the 365 unites Buenavista and Masca only twice a day: at 6:20 a.m. and 2:20 p.m., with returns at 6:50 a.m. and 2:50 p.m.
