SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 26 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Canarian Coalition (CC) and the Agrupación Herreña Independiente (AHI) have sealed the departure of the Herreños from the nationalist federation and have agreed to mutual support for the candidacies presented by AHI in El Hierro to the municipalities, the Cabildo and the Parliament of the Canary Islands and to the regional candidacy headed by Fernando Clavijo.
This is one of the points that both political forces have signed and with which the El Hierro party recovers its position prior to 2003, prior to joining the nationalist federation. This agreement is the result of the internal dialogue process and the decisions of the AHI bodies adopted at the end of 2022 that is currently materializing.
The AHI reinforces the idea approved at the time in its assembly of continuing to be aligned with the Canarian nationalist parties, but defending its own vision of the construction of Canarian autonomy, a decision that the Canary Coalition not only understood, but also respected from the outset .
The Canarian Coalition supports that the Independent Herreña Association tries to recover the hegemonic role that it has exercised among the El Hierro people since its creation, staunchly defending the island over ideologies, a philosophy that is also the hallmark of the Canary Coalition, which has always placed of ideologies and political colors the defense of the Canary Islands.
The agreement signed between the Canary Islands Coalition and the AHI annuls the integration agreement of May 2002 but opens the way to adopting new ways of understanding and collaboration that will allow both political forces to continue working for the good of El Hierro and the Canary Islands.
Regarding the upcoming electoral processes, the agreement states that the AHI will present itself to the El Hierro town halls, the Cabildo and the Canary Islands Parliament and that the Canary Islands Coalition will not present candidacies, nor will it reach electoral agreements with any political force in El Hierro. The AHI will only go with its acronym as an independent party, with the exception of the candidacy that the Frontera Union supports for this City Council, which will be as AHI-UF.
At the regional level, the Agrupación Herreña Independiente will support the candidacy presented by the Canary Islands Coalition and, should the circumstances arise, they express their commitment to reach agreements to form a government in the Canary Islands for the good of the Canary Islands and El Hierro.
