Nieves Hernández Rivero won the first prize in the New Designers Contest integrated in Tenerife Volcanic Fashion that is held from yesterday until tomorrow at the Fairgrounds.
After Nieves Hernandez. Ainoa Rodríguez López obtained the second prize, while Israel Jesús Castro was distinguished with the award for the most commercial collection. The three winners received a cash prize of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros, respectively.
For the first time, the Cabildo de Tenerife awarded the winner a scholarship, for an amount of up to 6,000 euros, to be able to continue their training in fashion and thus contribute to professionalize and improve the training of a strategic sector for the Island.
Twelve new creatives entered the contest, of which five were shortlisted. Before the awards ceremony, they participated in a joint parade in which they each presented 10 prototypes.
The president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, and the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary IslandsYaiza Castilla, participated in this act, together with the Minister of EmploymentSocioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, and the insular director of Socioeconomic Development, Ermitas Moreira.
The fourth edition of the Tenerife Volcanic Fashion fair It is held until tomorrow, the 23rd, with various activities, around thirty designers, as well as 40 fashion and beauty companies.
The fair’s agenda continued yesterday with the parades of various firms from Tenerife and other islands and the opening of a market room, in which 40 fashion, accessories, crafts and beauty companies will promote and sell their products until the tomorrow afternoon.
The last day will see the awards ceremony of the eleventh edition of the Tenerife Moda 2023 National Photography Contest, with which this year the aim has been to value the role that traditions play as a reference and source of inspiration.
