SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 22 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Héctor Gómez, has highlighted the figure of the President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, since, he commented, the socialist candidate for re-election represents a way of doing politics based on progress, consensus and social advancement.
“If something has been demonstrated in these four years in the governments of Spain, the Canary Islands, the Cabildo de Tenerife and where we govern at the local level, it is that there is another way of governing”, he said this Saturday during the presentation of the candidacies of the PSOE in Tenerife.
Gómez stressed that the socialist way of doing things is far from confrontation and conflict, focusing mainly “on solving problems.”
“In these years – he continued – we have led solutions. Spain is today a benchmark in energy and economic policy and also when it comes to counteracting the effects of inflation. We are the second country in the EU with the lowest inflation”.
In addition, the minister also referred to the policies that the PSOE carries out at the regional level, since, he understood, the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, represents a way of doing politics based on progress, the search for consensus and of social advancement.
“The Canary Islands is a benchmark in the national group and so is Tenerife with the policies that the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, has promoted in terms of employment, social or economic,” he asserted.
For this reason, Gómez placed special emphasis on the fact that both Torres and Martín deserve the trust of all citizens. “From the Government of Spain all the support and drive to continue growing,” he concluded.
