SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The supply water tanks in Arafo ‘El Tanque I’ and ‘El Tanque II’ come into operation after the rehabilitation works that have been carried out to improve the supply in the municipality.
The City Council received the work this Friday from the Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Municipal Cooperation and Housing area.
For the execution of the works there has been an investment of 728,049 euros, an item that has been financed 90% by the Cabildo and 10% by the City Council, and the action has focused on the comprehensive reform of these infrastructures, to guarantee the provision of this public service.
The works are included in the 2014-2017 Municipal Cooperation Plan and consisted of rehabilitating the two drinking water storage tanks and the complementary supply infrastructure and pipelines.
Among other improvements, the roof has been reconstructed, the interior cleaning and waterproofing has been carried out, as well as the construction of a casetón for the registration of the vessels, with the necessary conditioning to comply with the criteria established in the Surveillance Program. A key room and a chlorination room for deposits have also been installed.
The project has also included the installation of a new filtration system in the El Majuelo reservoir, an infrastructure that functions as the head of the entire supply network in the municipality, as well as the construction of a new pipeline to the La Hidalga to guarantee the sufficient flow to supply water to the lower part of the municipality.
