SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Nieves Hernández Rivero has won first prize in the ‘New Designers Contest’ organized within the framework of ‘Tenerife Volcanic Fashion’, which opened its fourth edition this Thursday with this contest in which Ainoa Rodríguez López obtained second prize and Israel Jesús Castro was distinguished with the prize for the most commercial collection.
The three winners received a cash prize of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros, respectively.
In addition, for the first time, the Cabildo de Tenerife awarded the first prize a scholarship, for an amount of up to 6,000 euros, to be able to continue their training in fashion and thus contribute to professionalizing and improving the training of a strategic sector for Tenerife.
The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, and the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla, participated this Thursday in the event, together with the Minister of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso , and the insular director of Socioeconomic Development, Ermitas Moreira.
The fourth edition of the fashion fair ‘Tenerife Volcanic Fashion’, organized by the Cabildo de Tenerife, in collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands, is held until Sunday, with various activities, around thirty designers, as well as 40 companies fashion and aesthetic.
A total of 12 new designers entered the contest, of which five were shortlisted who, before the awards ceremony, participated in a joint fashion show, in which each one presented a total of 10 prototypes and designs.
