Marichal defends that digitization is relevant for productivity and results
Jorge Marichal, president of Ashotel, highlighted the hotel management’s commitment to support the digitization of SMEs and freelancers, a path that began in 2019 with the launch of the first project, the Office of Digital Transformation (OTD). Already in a pandemic, in 2020 Ashotel presented an initiative to Red.es to give continuity to the OTD, being included in the national network of Acelera Pyme Offices throughout the country. For this reason, during the last two years, Ashotel has been one of the two offices of this modality in the Canary Islands.
“Managing this type of program entails great responsibility, because we are committed to meeting a series of indicators that depend on companies and individuals trusting us to guide them and help them improve their competitiveness, identify innovative solutions, and seek funding,” Marichal said. «Digitization, which has a lot to do with competitivenessshould be used to measure and reduce costs, to reduce the time invested in different processes, make work easier for people and, especially in the tourism sector, improve the customer experience”, added Marichal.
Eliana Bautista, head of the Ashotel OApyme, summarized that “it has been important to have become a point of support and advice for 1,018 SMEs and the self-employed, on their path towards digital transformation.”
