SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Mariano H. Zapata, has criticized today Tuesday the “unilateral” decision of the Government of the Canary Islands and the central government not to continue with the second section of the new coastal highway and has affirmed that this decision evidences the “inefficiency” of the Canarian Executive.
In an audio sent to the media, the president of the Cabildo wanted to make it clear that the Government of the Canary Islands “has been unable to work together with the neighbors to find viable and future solutions for the island.” In fact, he recalled that the residents themselves proposed some alternatives for the second phase of the coastal highway to Tazacorte that “were not even evaluated or studied by the Government of the Canary Islands.”
Mariano H. Zapata lamented that the island has to suffer “one more half work by the Government of the Canary Islands; a work that has neither beginning nor end and that will remain as a memory of the inefficiency that we have suffered in terms of to the recovery of the island by the autonomous government after the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano”.
