Tourism, business and educational professionals will discuss the sustainability challenges faced by the engine of the Canary Islands economy at the 86th General Assembly of Hotrec, the European hospitality association, which meets from 26 to 28 in Adeje. It will take place on Friday of next week as part of the second working day, which will take a hundred delegates to the facilities of the Technological Institute for Renewable Energies (ITER).
Ashotel, as the host association, includes this visit in the program of this business meeting to publicize a lesser-known facet of the traditional tourism resourcesas well as the research and innovation work of this center, with a fundamental role in generating knowledge and synergies to achieve more sustainable tourism.
The day will begin with a Guided tour of the bioclimatic homes and the renewable energy walkcontinuing with a debate that arises from considering whether the tourism sector is prepared to face the current challenges in terms of sustainability. It will be a meeting point for the exchange of real experiences that some associated and European companies have launched in terms of sustainability.
Both Hotrec and Ashotel collaborate with Myriad-EU, a project that analyzes the risks and management of natural disasters: vulcanological, seismic, pandemic or related to climate change, among others.
