Sí Podemos denounces alleged irregularities in Enrique Arriaga’s trips to grand prix motor racing

Yes We Can Canary Islands has denounced the alleged irregularities in the use of public money by the first vice-president of the Cabildo de Tenerife and insular councilor of the Area of Highways, Mobility, Innovation and Culture, Enrique Arriagato cover trips to grand prix motor racing.

The insular group has announced in a note that it will ask in plenary commission about the expenses generated as a result of the trips for public officials of the Cabildo and the public company IDECO related to contracts of this public company regarding the Engine Circuit.

The insular spokesman for Sí Podemos Canarias, David Carballo, has indicated that they have “serious suspicions that public resources have been used for unjustified trips by Vice President Arriaga.” According to the information to which they have had access, they believe that they have been able to afford even ‘Luxury Paddock’ tickets to these grand prizes worth 3,000 euros each.

David Carballo has added that everything related to the Motor Circuit “stinks of irregularities and is a project that is flawed from birth.” For this reason, they demand once again that its construction be halted and that not one more public euro be allocated to this end.

Carballo added that these are expenses “responding to pleasure trips, since it is known to all that they have nothing to do with the contracted services and an attempt was made to include them in the fees paid to the companies with which they have signed advertising agreements in 2022 and 2023”. From Sí Podemos Canarias, they also ensure that companies are denouncing that these invoices are not the subject of a contract and are demanding immediate payment.

The progressive formation has denounced that each weekend of Vice President Enrique Arriaga to these great prizes “costs the Tenerife men and women approximately 20,000 euros, and on this island there are much more pressing needs to deal with so as to throw away the money of all of this way”.
