Schooling with two years arrives next year in Garachico

The Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands will implement schooling from the age of two in the Center for Early Childhood and Primary Education (CEIP) Antonio del Valle Menéndezin the historic center of garachico. The measure will be applied from the next 2023-2024 school year, when the necessary reform works of this public center are carried out.

The mayor of Garachico, Jose Heriberto Gonzalez (CC)celebrates that this experience finally reaches this municipality of the lower islandafter this course has been applied in centers of six locations in the North: Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava, Los Realejos, Santa Úrsula, Tacoronte and Icod de los Vinos.

For Jose Heriberto Gonzalez“this is another good news for garachico, which will participate in the experimental implementation of the insertion in free public education of 2-year-old boys and girls. A part of the center will have to be adapted to accommodate spaces for these children, “which will require works valued at about 153,000 euroswhich will be fully provided by the Regional Education Council.

More centers in the north of Tenerife

The forecast of the Ministry of Education is that this experience of schooling from the age of two will also extend from the next academic year to at least another six municipalities in the North: El Sauzal, La Matanza, La Victoria, La Guancha, San Juan de la Rambla and Los Silos.
