SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Canarian Nationalist Party (PNC) has denounced the alleged maneuvers of the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) to prevent its participation in the elections on May 28 and has expressed its indignation at the “twisted legal tricks that Fernando Clavijo and CC to prevent the free exercise of the democratic will of the Canary Islands and Canary Islands”.
The PNC has informed in a note that it has received a communication of the agreement adopted by the Electoral Board of the Canary Islands, in a session held on April 13, in which it is warned that “no party, federation, coalition or group of voters may present more than one list of candidates in a constituency for the same election. The federated or coalition parties cannot present their own candidacies in a constituency if candidates from the federations or coalitions to which they belong concur in the same election”.
The Canarian Nationalist Party has explained that at said meeting the only proponent political formation in this matter is, as observed in the agenda of the Board, the supposed Canarian Coalition Federation. For this reason, he wanted to clarify that the separation agreement of the Federation of Canary Islands Coalition parties granted by the entity Canary Nationalist Party, number nine hundred two, was raised to the public on April 3, 2023 before the notary Carlos José Jarabo Rivera.
From the PNC they also point out that said separation from the Federation, made public in the aforementioned deed, as well as the documentation it contains, was communicated and sent to the Ministry of the Interior, Registry of Political Parties, both electronically and electronically. in person through the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands.
Likewise, it understands that said Electoral Board must be and is a legitimate and recognized guarantor of what is included in the preliminary title of the Spanish Constitution, in its Article 6: “Political parties express political pluralism, attend the formation and manifestation of the will of the people and are a fundamental instrument for political participation”.
For the Canarian Nationalist Party, “it is evident that the CC and its leader Fernando Clavijo intend to restrict the free exercise of electoral competition and the free choice of citizens with legal tricks designed by some lawyer. Nothing surprising when Canarian nationalism has become in the enemy of Coalición Canaria and its chances of obtaining results close to 2019 are fading, precipitating its electoral decline as its leaders know”.
Finally, they recognize the high value of CC militancy and remind them that the PNC “will always be the great house of nationalism and the defense of the sovereignty of the Canary Islands, without complexes and with absolute conviction.”
