SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The La Laguna City Council has presented its endorsement of the candidacy of the La Laguna Zona Comercial Business Association (LLZC) for the 2023 National Domestic Trade Awards, in the category of Open Shopping Centers, convened by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism .
The support, signed by the Department of Commerce and Economic Development, recognizes the meritorious work and trajectory of the Association and its commitment to the economic and social development of the municipality since its foundation in 1992, work that “contributes to providing an excellent experience that forms part of the very identity of the only city in the Canary Islands declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO”, and which justifies obtaining this distinction.
Among the arguments that support the support of the local Administration for this award, it refers to the fact that “local commerce, dedicated to both the service sector and the catering sector, is a fundamental part of the life of the municipalities, since , inevitably, helps to generate not only economic development, but also social development that has a great impact on citizens. That is why it is essential, as an aid to this economic and social impulse, to be able to count on an association solid business and with an active presence in the day-to-day life of the municipality, and this is the case of LLZC”.
In the letter of support, it is stated that the La Laguna Zona Comercial Association “has the purpose of joining forces when it comes to ensuring the interests of small and medium-sized companies that make up the base of our economic fabric, as well as creating synergies of public-private collaboration in order to contribute to the economic development of the municipality”.
This association constitutes, says the institutional support, “an effective communication channel between its associates and the Local Administration, which is why it helps us to work together to value the closeness and differentiated offer of our ZCA. In addition, it contributes to involve the sector in the cultural life of the municipality, so that all the revitalization activities and projects that are carried out throughout the year make up a unique offer that integrates economy, leisure and culture”.
“In this way, it is made available to our citizens, as well as to all the people who visit us,” the document states, “an experience of excellence that is part of the very identity of San Cristóbal de La Laguna.”
The entity currently has 250 associated companies, which are located, for the most part, in the Open Commercial Zone (ZCA) of the Historic Center of La Laguna, although it is in the process of expanding to other urban centers of the municipality.
