SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The national secretary of the Canary Islands Coalition, Fernando Clavijo, has visited the plot of more than 12,000 square meters where the future CAE of La Lajita will be located and which has been provided by the CC team at the Pájara City Council. “A vital project that, after four years and with more resources than ever, the Government of the Canary Islands has not shown enough interest to carry it out,” said Clavijo.
During the visit, Fernando Clavijo pointed out that for CC “all people should have access to the same opportunities, regardless of the island or municipality where they reside”, and expressed his commitment so that this resource can become a reality as soon as possible in the south of Fuerteventura: “This is how we will do it, from our coordination from the Government of the Canary Islands and the City Council”.
He also added that it is “a pity that with 1,000 million euros more in the health budget, the autonomous government has had the worst data in history in the Canary Islands.”
For his part, the councilor and candidate for mayor of Pájara, Alexis Alonso, explained that this is “an important demand from citizens, who need better health resources in the south of the island.” “From CC we are going to continue leading this project as part of our electoral program. It is important that Pájara is a first class municipality and has these types of resources that are so necessary. It is important because we can save lives,” he added.
Meanwhile, the general secretary of CC, Mario Cabrera, stressed the importance of having “an infrastructure that is vital for the Island and that the Government of the Canary Islands has been unable to start.” “They continue to do absolutely nothing to materialize projects that we left with financial resources, not only the CAE of La Lajita, but many other clinics such as El Cotillo, the Castillo and Corralejo II Health Centers, or the necessary expansion of the Gran Tarajal Health Center,” he added.
