The spokesman for the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, announced this Thursday that the Permanent Deputation of the Parliament of the Canary Islands will meet in full to discuss the validation of the decree-law on dependency benefits.
In a press conference to give an account of the agreements of the Governing Council, he has recognized that it is a “singular” event given that the Chamber has already been dissolved but will meet again once the Advisory Council’s report is issued.
Pérez has specified that although Parliament has been dissolved, the Government “is fully competent” and “is not in office”, although it does have the “limitation” that “it cannot make propaganda” during the electoral period even if the election has not started. Campaign.
However, he has pointed out that he has opened a specific web page on the next regional and local elections to inform about the elections.
The decree establishes the maximum amounts of this economic benefit linked to the care of dependent people based on the degree of dependency recognized with 800 euros for Grade III; 477.25 euros for Grade II, and 336 euros, for Grade I.
This economic benefit is of a personal nature and may be linked to any of the services in the catalog of the System for Autonomy and Dependency Care.
The draft decree-law establishes, as general requirements to access the PEVS, that the beneficiaries are residents of the Canary Islands and meet the specific requirements established for access to the care service or services, to which the benefit is linked; who have a place or access to the provision of the service, in a center or by a private person or entity, with or without profit, duly accredited and that the Individual Care Program (PIA) of the person in a situation of dependency determines the adequacy of this benefit.
Likewise, it regulates the economic benefit for care in the family environment and support for non-professional caregivers (PECEF), consisting of an economic amount whose purpose is to contribute to the coverage of the expenses derived from the specific care provided at home to those who are is in a situation of dependency and by a person in his family or environment, not linked to a professional care service.
This benefit may only be granted when access to a service or, failing that, to an economic benefit linked to the service is not possible, due to the non-existence of accredited public or private resources.
The granting of this benefit implies the appointment of a non-professional caregiver, who must directly and personally assume responsibility for the care and attention of the person in a situation of dependency.
Regarding the amounts for the PECEF benefit, the following maximum amounts are established: 504 euros, for Grade III; 319.08 euros, for Grade II, and 180 euros, for Grade I.
