SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands has authorized this Thursday a transfer for an amount of 250,000 euros from the Ministry of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs, at the request of the Ministry of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, to the Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands (Involcan) , for its line of action Involcan. Canarian Strategy for the reduction of volcanic risk.
The authorization of this monetary contribution to Involcan has the favorable report of the General Directorate of Planning and Budget of the Government of the Canary Islands and the report of the budget offices of the ministries of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs and Public Administrations, Justice and Security.
This operation is regulated by Law 7/2022, of December 28, on General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands for 2023 -articles 10, 16, 17.1 a) and 22.1 b)-, Law 11/2006, of 11 December, of the Public Treasury of the Canary Islands -articles. 54 and 60.b and c)- and the Order of July 3, 2006, of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, on the processing of certain files for credit modifications and other actions with budgetary repercussions.
Involcan is an entity whose purpose is to contribute to the improvement of volcanic risk management in the Canary Islands, the only volcanically active region in Spain with volcanic risk, and the optimization of the management of the numerous benefits that come with living in a volcanic territory ( geothermal resources, geotourism, etc.). Its mission and vision are intended to contribute to the sustainable development of the Canary Islands, as well as other volcanic regions.
